The Caribbean’s answer to the Fastnet
Given the history of Offshore Racing in many regions throughout the world, this discipline is a relatively new innovation in the Caribbean.
The first edition of the RORC Caribbean 600 was only staged in 2008, and the Mount Gay Ocean Race is even younger. This upsurge can only be attributed to the growing popularity of Yacht Racing in the Caribbean.
The many high quality Regattas that are staged every year throughout the island chain, the favourable weather and constant trade winds, the beautiful scenery, and the diversity of cultures brings sailors streaming across the Atlantic every November to savour what there is on offer.
Justifiably the Caribbean is a world class sailing and racing venue.
