Annual Event. The Campaign starts in June

 

In non Fastnet years RORC organise a long distance race in August. The first year of the new RORC Cowes to Ushant Race was 2016.

The course will start in Cowes and cross the English Channel, heading for the Western Approaches. The turning point is the French Island of Ushant which lies at the join of the English Channel and the Bay of Biscay. Yachts will then head East navigating the tricky and tactical waters of North Brittany which involve some of the strongest tides in Europe. The second half of the race will be coastal and scenic and will lead the fleet to a finish in St. Malo France.
This campaign is unique in the way it includes four RORC races plus training weekends and training courses.
It involves 5 weekends plus the Ushant race itself.

Pre Requisites

  • Minimum age 18
  • Sailing ability & experience to RYA Day Skipper
  • RYA Sea Survival – (one day course)
  • RYA ISAF Offshore Safety – (one day course)
