Our “Sailor of the Year” nominee for the Sailing Today 2017 Awards, Pippa Turton (Pippa the “Skippa”), is once again skippering our yacht Phoenix in the 2018 RORC Caribbean C600
This time she is aiming for an all female crew in the spirit of her dedication to encouraging women into sailing by building confidence through skills and knowledge through our website Girls Go Sailing
In 2017 the “wind gods” were not with her as she encountered a very local low pressure system that put squall level headwinds against her just as she was sailing up the west coast of Nevis & St. Kitts. It was so local that most of the fleet, who were only a few miles away, missed it completely!
This was very disappointing given that the Phoenix CSA Rating of 0.810 put her in with an excellent chance of achieving a class finish and podium position.
Ali has already joined the crew and is bursting with enthusiasm to notch this one up on her bed post.
Pippa is looking for 7 more equally enthusiastic female sailors to make up her full crew compliment and at US$1,750 / berth is expecting a rapid take up of this fabulous offer.
This includes:
- On yacht accommodation.
- Race provisioning.
- 3 days of pre event familiarisation.
- Entry fee.
- Berthing fee.
- Team polo shirt.
A 25% deposit will secure your berth.
The 2018 RORC 600 starts on Monday, February 19th. Our package starts with crew muster on Monday, February 12th if you want to join Pippa a week early for preparation, training and familiarisation, or early Friday, February 16th if you just want to join for the delivery to Falmouth Harbour and pre race training .
Pippa looks forward to welcoming you aboard for this exciting opportunity.
